Cartagena
This series is an ongoing body of work all of which take place under a surreal sky in Cartagena de Indias. This Colonial city located on the Caribbean coast of Colombia has served as a profound inspiration for my art as this bewitching town built inside the largest military fortification of the Spanish empire holds secrets and the promise of adventure around every corner I turn. It stimulates my imagination like no place manages to do. Whatever good or bad remains of the colonial past Colombia has had to overcome morphs into magical bittersweet creatures and stories that fuel romantic or bizarre stories in the works of art I create inside this series.
